San Diego American Indian Health Center
March 2016 to Present
-Revised the organization’s website and marketing copy to provide a more positive and accurate representation of services
-Completed qualitative patient satisfaction research to identify areas of clinical operation improvement
-Conducted special event and person-to-person outreach to Native and non-Native populations

Greater San Diego Office of the American Diabetes Association
June 2015 to March 2016
-Worked with Native American communities in San Diego and Riverside counties to organize diabetes prevention and management education sessions in communities disproportionately affected by the illness
-Identified grant opportunities and wrote grant proposals to ensure the continuation of the project

People Improving Communities through Organizing/San Diego Organizing Project
February 2011 to February 2015
-Researched health disparities among 10 U.S. cities as part of PICO’s “Bring Health Reform Home” project
-Assisted community organizers in designing research-based health disparity outreach campaigns to bring attention to and reduce healthcare disparities in their communities
-Led a program that enrolled over 400 uninsured families into Medi-Cal and Covered California health plans through outreach at local churches
-Managed a voter outreach call center that increased awareness and support of Proposition 47, a ballot initiative that reduced certain non-violent drug felonies to misdemeanors and reduced the prison population

La Maestra Community Health Centers
July 2012 to January 2014
-Researched funding opportunities and wrote grants to help this community health center serve 40,000 uninsured and under-insured patients per year
